This is Why You Are Hungry After Breakfast

You did the right thing this morning: you woke up, took the time to prepare or buy breakfast, and then ate it. You are feeling pretty good right about now until you get to work and are suddenly ravenous. So many people experience feelings of hunger not long after they have eaten breakfast and had no idea why. This is Why You Are Hungry After Breakfast

Maybe you aren’t eating enough, or you’re eating the wrong kinds of things.

If you are only having a small meal for breakfast such as a piece of fruit or juice, you may not be eating enough to get you through until your mid-morning snack or lunchtime.

Keep It Balanaced

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. It is crucial that you are filling up on the right types of foods. Like all meals, breakfast should contain a healthy balance of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats.

You're Picking The Wrong Things

The most frequent mistake people make with their breakfast choices is eating ‘breakfast’ labelled foods. The majority of pre-packaged, quick breakfast options like cereal, muffins and pancakes are highly processed, full of sugar and can be some of the worst foods to start your day.

You're Sugar Bombing

Although the box may say ‘nutritious’ or 'healthy' or claim to be high in certain vitamins, these sugar bomb breakfast meals can cause a huge dip in blood sugar levels just a couple of hours later. As a result, you're more likely to crave unhealthy high sugar foods throughout the day, which is your body’s call for a ‘pick me up.’ This is one reason you are feeling so hungry after your breakfast.

You Need a Healthy Snack

If you had a lighter breakfast it is perfectly okay to have a snack before lunch time. Sticking to a healthy snack will help keep you satiated and avoid a blood sugar crash.
